City Of Douglasville: Douglasville Parks & Recreation Receives BOOST Grant

The Parks and Recreation Department will use the funds for their SPARK afterschool program for K-12 students. SPARK will focus on enrichment activities such as the arts, career exploration, service-learning, healthy eating, physical activity, and learning acceleration. 

This grant will be used to remove barriers placed on families due to financial constraints related to the program cost, transportation, and enrollment fees. This program will be designed to support students in a whole-child approach towards educating youth.  

“We are grateful to GRPA for awarding funds that allow our department the opportunity to address the learning loss caused by COVID-19,” said Parks and Recreation Director Chris Bass. “Receiving the grants aligns with our goal of providing equitable recreational opportunities for our youth.”
