- In case you missed this little bit of local trivia: Netflix's popular show Stranger Things was filmed in various locations in Georgia, including two locations in Douglasville. The city's former town hall served as the Hawkins Police Station and a commercial lot served as the Palace Arcade. (Collider)
- Douglasville hosted the ALX Invitational, a championship wrestling competition, last week to wrap up 2022. The Pelham Panthers from Alabama won the overall championship after competing with wrestling teams from Georgia and one from Ohio. (Shelby County Reporter)
- The Douglas County Board of Commissioners approved an agreement with Douglasville for delivery of services late last year. Each county is required to reach an agreement on services with local government officials and authorities to ensure that services are readily available for residents. (Press Release Desk)
- At the end of last year, Douglas County Fire promoted the first woman to serve as a lieutenant in Douglas County's Fire & EMS Department. - A window replacement company is expected to bring 900 new jobs to Georgia by opening its first southeast manufacturing facility in Locust Grove (about 60 miles from Douglasville). On Tuesday, Gov. Brian Kemp announced that Renewal by Andersen will be setting up shop in the state. The facility joins two other company facilities already in the state, including a distribution center in Douglasville. (11 Alive)
