COVID-19 Relief Money Available For Douglas County Residents

Applications will be taken Friday for money to help county residents pay rent, mortgage and utility bills during the coronavirus pandemic.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Starting Friday, Douglas County will begin taking applications for COVID-19 relief money to help residents pay rent, mortgage and utility bills.

Douglas County citizens can apply for up to $2,000 in rental or mortgage assistance, up to $250 for their water bills, and up to $300 for their gas or electric bills. Applicants will have to show proof of need with documentation to qualify for the program.

Douglas County is providing $243,646 for the relief fund, to be distributed by Vision 21 Concepts, a local non-profit. Money will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications and supporting documentation will be accepted beginning Friday at the Vision 21 Concepts website.
