  1. Road rage on a Florida highway amounted in a shootout featuring a Douglasville man. Two men allegedly fired into each other's vehicles, wounding their daughters. William Hale of Douglasville and Frank Allison of Florida were charged last week with attempted second-degree murder in the Oct. 8 confrontation. A witness told police that both vehicles were being driven so erratically that he called the authorities out of concern. (The Associated Press - en Español)
  2. Over the weekend, Clemson had a big win over Florida State. Douglasville's own Israel Boyce, a Clemson recruit for the 2024 class, was interviewed by Clemson about the win. Boyce, who plays defensive back, said, “It was a great win both offense and defense started to click after halftime. It was a little shaky in the first half but I knew they were going to come out the next half locked in.” (The Clemson Insider)
  3. Dorsett Shoals Elementary School’s English to Speakers of Other Languages Teacher, Mrs. Cases, hosted a Hispanic Heritage Wax Museum with her students. Each student chose a person representing Hispanic Heritage to research and present. Principal Kelly Brown said, “We were so proud of all the hard work and effort put into bringing the Wax Museum to DSES. As always, it's a great day to be a Panther!” (The Douglas County School System)
  4. Jordan Arfanakis, a senior at Chapel Hill High School (CHHS), is the founder and president of Chapel Hill’s Teens In the Driver Seat program. Teens In the Driver Seat, founded by Texas A&M, aims to raise awareness for traffic safety and all major driving risks for teens. The group recently hosted a Big Rig Event at a Friday night football game to show students how to drive safely near semis. (The Douglas County School System)
