Douglas Co. Judge Allegedly Hits Officer, Arrested In Buckhead: Report

Douglas Co. Probate Judge Christina Peterson​​​ is accused of hitting an officer who was checking on a crying woman in a Buckhead club.

BUCKHEAD, GA — Douglas County Probate Judge Christina Peterson is facing charges after being accused of hitting an Atlanta police officer and refusing to identify herself Thursday morning in a Buckhead nightclub, per a media report.

Peterson, accused of seemingly being under the influence, was accused of hitting an officer in the head while the officer was checking on a woman who was crying in a Peachtree Road nightclub, Fox 5 Atlanta reported, citing a police report.

She was accused of not giving her name to officers, and instead, asking that they notify another officer who gave her name to them, Fox 5 reported.

Peterson was charged on suspicion of simple battery against police officer/police dog/corrections or detention officer and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers by use of threats or violence, Fulton County Jail records show.

She was granted a $1,000 bond on the former charge and a $4,000 bond on the latter charge, jail records show.

Peterson's arrest comes after she was found guilty of systemic incompetence in April by the Judicial Qualifications Commission.
