Douglas County Board Of Commissioners Approves Alcohol Ordinance

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, at the December 18th Commission meeting, voted to approve the Douglas County Code or Ordinance change for section 3-70. This action was in response to the recent overwhelming county support and subsequent vote to amend the ordinance here in Douglas County and provide Sunday alcohol sales starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
This ordinance is more commonly known as the ‘Sunday Brunch Bill.” The ordinance change to the Douglas County Code and vote on Tuesday night, Dec. 18, means that Sunday alcohol sales can begin immediately with the first effective date being this Sunday, Dec, 23.
Douglas County is one of nearly 50 cities and counties across the state of Georgia who have approved such ordinances.
