Deputy, Suspect And 2 Civilians Shot In Douglasville
Douglas County deputies were responding to a person shot call when the accused gunman shot at the deputies, hitting one of them.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A Douglas County deputy was shot around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday while deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 590 block of North Bear Drive, authorities said.
The deputies responded to the scene after being notified that a man was shot, Criminal Investigations Capt. John Mooney said at a news conference. When the deputies went into the home to arrest the suspected gunman, the person shot at the deputies, hitting a deputy and a woman inside the home, Mooney said.
The deputies returned gunfire, hitting the suspect, Mooney said. He was airlifted to Grady, Mooney said. The deputy was taken to Grady, as well.

The person who was initially shot died, Mooney said. The woman's condition is unknown.
Douglas County Sheriff Tim Pounds posted to Facebook that authorities were at an incident near Kings Highway though he did not detail the nature of the incident.

Pounds said the situation was under control with no threat to the community or the nearby school.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe into the shooting.
