  1. On Jan. 31, the Douglas County Fire/EMS department held a special gathering to honor three individuals. Lieutenant John Bennett was recognized as the Employee of the Month in Field Operations, while Dr. Edwin Ford was awarded Citizen of the Month for his continued support of the department and local government. The ceremony was a heartfelt event, with Fire Chief Roderick B. Jolivette closing the gathering by extending his gratitude towards the community and county officials. (Douglas County Georgia)
  2. Douglas County Fire & EMS Chief Roderick B. Jolivette has been named one of four finalists for the 2022 State of Georgia Emergency Medical Services Director of the Year Award. The announcement was made by the Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association on Jan. 27, 2023. The award recognizes the significant contributions of a Georgia EMS Director at the community, regional, and state level, and Fire Chief Jolivette's impact on the department has been described as "profound" and "amazing." The winner will be announced on Mar. 23, 2023, at the 2023 Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association Directors & Leadership Conference. (Press Release Desk)

The Douglasville Police Department is hosting its third annual Day of Unity on Feb. 18, starting at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place on the front steps of the Douglasville Public Safety Complex on Fairburn Road and will be attended by local community leaders.   4. The City of Douglasville is conducting a survey to determine the movie lineup for their 2023 Screen on the Green series.
