Douglas County Holds Police Academy For Regular Folks
The next round of classes for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Citizens Law Enforcement Academy starts on at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a 12-week course for the community to get a behind-the-scenes look at how law enforcement works.
The next round of classes starts at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20, at the Sheriff’s Office, 8470 Earl D. Lee Blvd. on the second floor. Dinner will be provided at 6 p.m.
The course is free, but the DCSO asks that those who are interested be able to attend all 12 weeks. The office's goal is not to teach attendees how to become law enforcement officers or pressure them into a career, but rather to give them some insight into the duties and responsibilities of personnel, said Liz Reeder, information services.
