Douglas County Names Teacher of Year Semifinalists

Douglas County Schools have named the eight semifinalists for its annual Teacher of the Year Award:

High School Semifinalists

Middle School Semifinalists

• Adrienne Griffin, Fairplay Middle School
• Thomas Thorne, Yeager Middle School

Elementary School Semifinalists

• Matthew Nauman, Bill Arp Elementary School
• Kimberley Haile, Burnett Elementary School
• Nick Epstein, Dorsett Shoals Elementary School
• Meghan Rathel, Holly Springs Elementary School

The next step in the selection process for these candidates is individual interviews.

All 34 school-level Teachers of the Year will be honored at a recognition on Thursday, October 1 at 4:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Grade level winners and the Douglas County Teacher of the Year will be named at the event.
