  1. On Thursday, Dec. 8., the Douglas County Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place. Held in front of the courthouse, this annual event features special guests, games, food, prizes, and of course the lighting of our giant tree. There will even be a special musical guest to get everyone into the holly jolly spirit. Attendance is free, but the first 200 people to show up will get a special free Douglas County ornament.   2. The Annual Christmas Concerts in the Courthouse started on Monday! Held in the Douglas County Courthouse, you can see talented children from local schools singing the songs of the season. Students from Sweetwater Elementary, North Douglas Elementary, and Chapel Hill High School (to name just a few) will perform through Dec. 15.   3. Exodus Ranch is celebrating Christmas on Dec. 10 with a country flair that will delight people of all ages. Santa and the Grinch will be in attendance for pictures and fun. There will also be pony and horse rides, a bounce house, a mechanical bill, and sheep riding. Proceeds from the event will go to supporting non-profits from the area. (AllEvents)
