Douglas County Warehouse Fire Damages Equipment

The Douglas County Fire Department is investigating an incident where a fire occurred at the County Department of Transportation Warehouse.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – The Douglas County Fire Department is investigating an incident where a fire occurred at the Douglas County Department of Transportation Warehouse at 8249 Chicago Avenue, Douglasville, Ga.

The fire was reported about 3:10 a.m. when an ambulance crew arrived to the location for refueling purposes and observed smoke coming from the building. Firefighters arrived to put out the blaze. There were no injuries as a result of the fire, but there was a substantial loss of multiple pieces of transportation equipment damaged by the fire.

Chicago Avenue was closed in both directions for a short time as a result of the fire. The City of Douglasville Police Department and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic operations.
