- A Douglas County high school student named Regis Harris was accepted into 40 colleges and offered $1.6 million in scholarships. Harris is a straight-A student and is actively involved in extracurricular activities like sports and volunteering. He plans to attend North Carolina A&T in Greensboro where heβll study biology (pre-med) in hopes of becoming a psychiatrist. (WRTV Indianapolis)
- Douglasville's very own Megan Moroney won the Female Breakthrough Video of the Year at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. The award recognizes her video for the song "Why Not Me," which tells the story of a young woman's journey to pursue her dreams in Nashville. The CMT Music Awards celebrate the best in country music videos and performances. (Everything Nash)
- In Cobb County, students have raised over $700,000 for critical research through the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. The funds raised will go towards heart disease and stroke research, as well as education and advocacy programs. The initiative aims to promote healthy habits and inspire children to take action against heart disease and stroke. (Cobb Courrier)
- A horse has died after being found trapped in a creek in nearby Powder Springs. The horse had become entangled in a fence and was unable to free itself before being swept away by the creek. Rescue crews attempted to save the animal but were unsuccessful. (Powder Springs)
- Two former employees of a hospital in Cobb County are accused of stealing an urn containing the ashes of a baby. The baby's parents expressed how upset they were after losing their child. (WSB-TV)

- The Red Cross Community Blood Drive will be held at the Douglasville Police department on Apr. 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last. (Douglasville Police Department via Facebook)
- The Douglasville Police Department will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Apr. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at their Community Room located at 2083 Fairburn Rd. The meeting will cover topics such as Active Shooter, Use of Force, and measures being taken to address youth violence. Attendees will be offered light refreshments.
