  1. On Jun. 4, author and Douglasville native, Dorothy "Dot" Padgett will be the featured speaker at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center in nearby Madison as she discusses her highly praised book, β€œJimmy Carter: Elected President with Pocket Change and Peanuts”. This presentation will be a substantive look at the life and career of Jimmy Carter and it will be moderated by US Congressman John Barrow. The event is free, open to the public, and runs from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Morgan Citizen)
  2. Following graduation at Douglasville South Paulding High School on Friday, May 26 quarterback Kasen Weisman will head out of town to enter the next stage of his career. Weisman is headed to Boulder, Colorado and plans to have his first meeting with his new team the Buffaloes at the end of next week. (247Sports)
  3. Christopher Morgan, from Douglasville, will be one of five athletes representing the United States this year in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He will play Alternate in the IBSA Goalball Youth World Championships this summer. This event will be held from Jul. 15 to Jul. 19. (U.S. Association Of Blind Athletes)
  4. Authorities are searching for Darrell Wynn Earnest, a 30-year-old unhoused resident of Douglasville, who has been reported missing. Earnest, also known by the nickname "July," was last seen on May 1. He is described as a Black male, approximately five feet seven inches tall, and weighing around 159 pounds. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, reach out to Sgt. Matt Underwood at the Douglasville Police Department.(FOX 5 Atlanta)

  • On May 25, a Douglas County jury returned a verdict on the Aggravated Sexual Battery case of 47-year-old Pierre Lang. Superior Court Judge Deah Warren presided over the matter and investigator Erin Garner with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office led law enforcement on the case.
