- We have an update on Megan Danielle, the 20-year-old Douglasville native who was featured on Sunday night's season premiere of American Idol. Megan earned the golden ticket that will send her to the Hollywood round. During the audition, Christian contemporary artist Lauren Daigle joined Megan to sing "You Say." (WSB Atlanta)
- In case you missed it: The Douglasville Police Department is organizing a Spring Festival & Safety Expo on Apr. 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the department. The event will include egg hunts, touch-a-truck, a K-9 demo, a bounce house, food, and vendors. The festival is free and open to the public; booth registration for vendors is $40. - Chapel Hill Elementary in Douglasville organized an African American Inventors Exhibit to celebrate Black History Month. Students learned about 26 different inventors and their inventions, with the aim of inspiring Douglasville youth to become inventors themselves. - The Douglasville Police Department is hosting a Youth Peace Summit focused on issues affecting today's youth, with a question and answer session, music, and more. The event will be held at the Douglasville Police Community Room on Saturday, Mar. 18 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Light refreshments will also be provided. (Douglasville Police Department)
