  1. Seven-year-old Sa'Raya, the youngest daughter of 37-year-old Joshua Mitchell, wrote a heartbreaking letter to Santa Claus asking to have her "daddy back" after he was shot and killed. Mitchell, a father-of-three and Marine from Douglasville, was shot to death in his driveway on Dec. 17. In the letter to Santa, Sa'Raya did not want any presents except for "God to bring [her father] back." (Daily Mail)
  2. Douglas County & West Georgia News posted a Twitter poll to ask the community whether the Douglasville-Douglas County Water Sewer Authority should create a Facebook page. After the recent water issues in the metro area, a Facebook page could help inform citizens of potential water issues. (Douglas County & West GA News via Twitter)
  3. The Douglas County Animal Services (DCAS) will remain closed for the remainder of the week and will operate by appointment only while workers clean and repair damages. On Dec. 27, the facility was without running water and portions were without power. The DCAS is asking for help from the community, including donations of clean towels and bedding.
