  1. There will be partial lane closures at the intersection of Stewart Mill Road and Reynolds Road in Douglasville until Dec. 8. Drivers should expect delays and should avoid the area if possible. Closures will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. due to roadwork at the intersection. (Douglas County Happenings)
  2. Yesterday, Dec. 2, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Alfred Watkins, a uniformed public safety officer for Grady Hospital, was charged with suspicion of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm from or on a roadway, and reckless conduct. Watkins allegedly shot at another driver on Interstate 20 westbound between Fairburn and Chapel Hill roads on Nov. 20. (Douglasville Patch)
  3. Douglas County fire officials said there were no injuries from the Dec. 1 house fire on the 6200 block of Ellis Street in Douglasville. The cause of the single-story house fire is under investigation. (Douglasville Patch)
  4. On Dec. 1, there were 5,801 citizens who voted in Douglas County which brought the total county turnout to 26,214. As of Dec. 2 at 12:42 a.m., 27.1 percent of active voters in Douglas County have voted. The final day to vote is election day, Dec. 6. (Douglas County & West GA News)
  5. Oregon Ducks defensive Bradyn Swinson, of Douglasville, will enter the transfer portal and will have two years of eligibility remaining at his school of choice.
