Douglasville Man Headed to Federal Prison
Demario Hillmon allegedly promised money and gifts to lure 17-year-old girls into the world of prostitution.

A Douglasville man was sentenced today to 10 years in federal prison on charges of sex trafficking of a minor and transporting a minor across state lines for prostitution.
Demario Hillmon, 30, met the teenage girls online, said Robert Page, the spokesman for United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates.
Using Tagged.com, a social networking website, and Backpage.com, an adult escort website, Hillmon allegedly promised money and gifts to lure 17-year-old girls into the world of prostitution, Page said.

"He then advertised the girls on internet websites and arranged for men to engage in commercial sex acts with them in and around metro Atlanta, and in Montgomery, Ala," Page said. "Hillmon kept most of the money for himself."
Law enforcement zeroed in on Hillmon after the family of one of the 17-year-old girls reported her as a runaway, Page said. Hapeville Police Department officers and officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, found the girl and another 17-year-old girl who was part of Hillmon's sex trafficking operation.

Hillmon pleaded guilty to the charges on April 8. At the conclusion of Hillmon's 10-year prison sentence, he will be under 10 years of supervised release, Page said.
“This case is another example of a successful investigation and prosecution of a man who took advantage of vulnerable young girls by making false promises to lure them into prostitution,” Yates said in a statement.
