Douglasville Mom 'Has An Adventurous Spirit' She Passed On To Daughter
Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to shine a light on awesome moms in the Douglasville area. Meet Dina Greer!

DOUGLASVILLE, GA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.
This submission comes from Kelly Cobb who nominated Dina Greer of Douglasville.
What makes your Mom extra special?
My mom raised my two brothers and me during the '60s when single parenthood and divorce were much more rare than today. There were kids whose parents wouldn’t allow us around because we were Catholic and my mom was divorced — a rare combination in Columbus, Georgia at that time! My mom worked multiple jobs, and we never knew how poor we were ... She has an adventurous spirit and passed that on to me. I’ve traveled the world without fear because of her example ... Her love is bottomless and active. Life was hard, but we survived.
Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?
She’s an amazing woman! A retired RN, the first woman in the Georgia National Guard to reach the rank of major, one of the first people in Georgia government to use a database to assist with her job, raised three children, one of the first (if not THE first) people in her family to go to college, the list is long!
Happy Mother's Day to Dina Greer, and thank you for all you do!
