Douglasville Park Redesign Public Input Meetings Announced

Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department has announced a series of public input meetings for the upcoming parks redesign project.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – The City of Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department has announced a series of public input meetings for the upcoming parks redesign project.

The date for the first meeting is Tuesday, February 12th at Golden Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 6903 James D. Simpson Avenue in Douglasville. The second meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th at Eastside Elementary School located at 8266 Connally Drive in Douglasville. The third and final meeting will be held on Tuesday March 5th at the Hawthorne Recreation Center at Jessie Davis Park located at 7775 Malone Street in Douglasville.

Each meeting will be held from 5:30 – 7 p.m. and food and light refreshments will be provided for all attendees. Parks and Recreation staff and representatives from Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood, Inc. (GMC) will be on hand to hold discussions and receive the wants and needs of the community so they can incorporate them in the redesign of Jessie Davis, Mill Village, and Willing Workers’ Parks.

“We’re very excited to begin this process,” Parks and Recreation Director Travis Landrum said. “Community involvement has been excellent for all of the other projects going on around the city, and I expect the same involvement for this project as well,” he added.
