- During a visit to Alexander High School, Georgia's State School Superintendent Richard Woods observed students using new virtual reality (VR) technology called Prisms to learn algebra. Prisms provides a personalized learning experience by incorporating VR content modules, teaching materials, and practice problems. Students praised the technology for its ability to make math more engaging and practical, with some expressing a desire to see it applied in other subjects as well. Woods welcomed the students' feedback and emphasized the importance of delivering quality education to meet their needs. (Douglas County School System)
- Amid a limited housing inventory, homebuyers are facing competition with multiple offers on properties, including newly renovated homes in Douglasville. The lack of supply and low mortgage rates are contributing to bidding wars as buyers return to the resale market while sellers are hesitant to list their homes. Although the current rate of multiple offers is lower than the peak during the pandemic, it has increased from previous months, reflecting the demand-supply imbalance in the housing market. - Join the Father's Day Mixed Doubles Pickleball Tournament, a fundraiser for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office SCOPE Division, at the Boundary Waters Activity Center in Douglasville on Jun. 17. The registration fee is $40 per person.
