- Douglasville Police arrested 22-year-old Diamond Hill and 21-year-old Kaitlyn Gardner after allegedly stealing grocery store cash registers and then leading officers on a high-speed chase. Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies joined the chase which ended near Thornton Road. Investigators suspect Hill and Gardner are tied to robberies in neighboring states. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office released a BOLO yesterday, Dec. 7, on missing 16-year-old Alexia Gena’ Sasso. She was last seen on Dec. 1 at her home in Douglasville. She is described as 5'7", 155 pounds, with long black braided hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on her right arm of the name "Kelly." She is believed to be in the Athens-Clarke County area. - Beulah Grove Lodge No. 372, a historic Black school building in Douglasville, was named to Georgia's 2023 'Places in Peril' list. The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation creates the list to bring awareness to the historic, archaeological, and cultural resources which are threatened by demolition and neglect. - The Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) will display the 'Winter Wonderland' themed student artwork in its gallery through Dec. 15.
