  1. The Douglasville Police Department is investigating a shooting which occurred on Nov. 22 at a Budget Inn motel, located at 1270 Waterway Circle in Douglasville. One man suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital. Police said the shooting suspect was seen walking away from the location. The suspect is wanted for aggravated assault and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Douglasville police. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. On Tuesday, Nov. 22, Douglas County offered voters the earliest chance to vote in the Senate runoff between Sen. Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker in all of Georgia. Early voting will end on Friday, Dec. 2, and the second Election Day will be held on Dec. 6. View the link to read what some early voters in Douglas County had to say about why they vote. (11 Alive)
  3. The 3rd Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast is on Saturday, Nov. 26, at The Never Alone Clubhouse in Douglasville. From 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., everyone is welcome to join the event and celebrate the holidays in the community. (Douglasville Patch)
  4. The Georgia Convention and Visitors Bureau Association (CVB) gave the City of Douglasville a Benchmark of Excellence Certification. The CVB received the bronze-level certification and it is valid for three years. Tourism Program Manager Rylee Govoreau said, "We are always exploring ways we can enhance the experiences of visitors coming to Douglasville. This Benchmark of Excellence certification is one way we can ensure we are on target for achieving that." (Press Release Desk)
  5. The City of Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department was awarded the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) State Agency of the Year for 2022 at GRPA's annual conference.   • On Nov. 29, the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County is raising money to help fund Art Education Initiatives around Douglas County for Giving Tuesday. Since 2008, around 80 percent of school district funding in the state has been cut and art classes are consistently the first to be cut. (Press Release Desk)
  • The Douglas County School System highlights the great work of School Resource Officer Quinta Lossa. Officer Lossa works on North Douglas Elementary School’s campus and "exemplifies servant leadership and what it means to community police," according to Principal Wooley. (Press Release Desk )
