Douglasville Police Arrest Teen

A resident allegedly saw him scaling his way up to a second story deck and breaking through the back door.

A 17-year-old Fairburn boy who was just released from the Fulton County Jail  on a burglary charge was arrested Thursday in Douglasville.

Charles Hassan July had just asked people in the Kensington Park subdivision off Lee Road if they were interested in landscaping services when a resident allegedly saw him scaling his way up to a second story deck and breaking through the back door, according to a Facebook post from the Douglasville Police Department.

When officers arrived on the scene, they ordered July to surrender. Instead of complying with that order, the teen allegedly removed his gloves and leaped from the deck onto a trampoline.

"He misjudged how high he would bounce and the officers were able to grab him before he hit the ground and ran," police said in the Facebook post.

July is in the Douglas County Jail without bond on charges of second-degree damage to property as well as loitering and prowling.
