Douglasville Robbery Foiled By Shotgun Blast In Air

Authorities say a Smyrna man accused his victim of robbing him, then returned the favor by grabbing his cell phone and keys.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA —A Smyrna man was arrested and charged with robbery Sunday after his intended victim made a point by firing a shotgun in the air.

Authorities said that Phil Johnathan Ray III, 20, confronted a man near the Wasabi restaurant and U-Haul on Georgia Highway 5 in Douglasville, claiming that the man had robbed Ray in another county.

Ray then took the man’s cell phone and keys. The man responded by retrieving his shotgun and firing it into the air.

Douglasville Police arrested Ray without incident and charged him with robbery by sudden snatching. There were no injuries.
