Douglasville Sees Population Increase: U.S. Census Estimates
Latest U.S. Census figures suggest the Douglasville region is growing, including inside the municipal boundaries.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The City of Douglasville saw an increase in the population last year, according to new estimates released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Douglasville's population increased by more than 400 residents, with an estimated population of 32,897.
The 2010 population for the city was 30,961, and the estimate has increased every year since then.

New numbers released by the Census Bureau on Thursday include population estimates for all local cities and towns.
The biggest municipality in Georgia: Atlanta, with 463,878. The population increased more than 7,500 in the city, according to Census estimates.

Columbus and Augusta were second and third, each with populations around 200,000.
Census estimates were also released for the number of housing units in counties.
Forsyth County is one of the fastest growing in the country, with more than 3,000 new housing units in 2015. Cherokee County and Oconee counties were among the top 100 fastest growing.
Douglas County increased by less than 200 housing units, with a total of 52,012.
