  1. Georgia has seen an influx of new residents from out-of-state, and Douglasville is among the top choices for new Peach Staters. Our city was ranked No. 5 in Georgia for out-of-state move destinations, based on moveBuddha's latest Georgia Migration Report. Douglas County is now hiring for multiple full-time positions, including a Communications Officer Trainee with the Sheriff's Department, a Program Coordinator at Boundary Waters Activity Center, and a Senior Secretary with the Superior Court.   3. In case you missed it, Connect Douglas will be holding a public forum on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 10:00 a.m. about its Fixed Route Bus service schedule. The public transit program is proposing to continue weekly operations of its four Fixed Route Buses (10, 20, 30, and 40) on the current Saturday schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Connect Douglas will accept comments and questions on the bus service via email (connectdouglas@douglascountyga.gov) and mailed letters (8800 Dorris Road, Douglasville, GA 30134) through the following Monday, Feb. 6. The Douglasville Police Department will be holding its next Community Enrichment Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. These meetings are designed to help local residents get more involved in programs that better the Douglasville community. If you want to get involved, stop by the Douglasville Public Safety Complex Community Room (2083 Fairburn Road) on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. (Douglasville Georgia)
  5. Curious about the state of crime in Douglasville? Mark your calendar for two weeks from today, when the Douglasville Police Department will hold its next Town Hall Meeting. On Jan. 31 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., representatives from the Department will meet with the public in the Police Department Community Room to discuss the 2022 End of the Year Report and violent crime statistics in the area.
