  1. Early voting in Douglas County for the runoff election began yesterday. Douglas County early voters will have seven voting locations throughout the area to choose from. However, on Saturday, Nov. 26, residents will only be able to vote at the Douglas County Courthouse. The early voting window will close on Dec. 2. (Douglas County Happenings via Facebook)
  2. There's no shortage of things to do in Douglas County Parks this season. Upcoming events include Reindeer Reels at Boundary Waters Aquatic Center on Dec. 2, as well as Ice Skating at Boundary Waters Aquatic Center starting on Dec. 10.   3. Douglas County law enforcement is on the hunt for two men accused of a lottery theft at a local gas station. The theft occurred in the early morning of Nov. 18 at the Fairplay Chevron station on the 8300 block of Highway 166. Surveillance video shows the two men using a sledgehammer to break into the lottery display window and steal all the tickets inside. Similar robberies have happened in nearby counties as well. The investigation is ongoing. (FOX5 Atlanta)
  4. Food delivery service Home Chef has opened its first Douglasville location. The production center offers state-of-the-art features, such as upgraded food-safe material design, cleaning processes, and facility flow. The Douglasville location is also the first of Home Chef's facilities which offers a full service kitchen and batch production services.   5. A Douglas County jury has sentenced a local man for the murder of a grandmother. Dewey Green, 31, has been found guilty of felony murder, as well as three counts of aggravated assault. In 2014, Green rear-ended 53-year-old Janice Pitts, who was driving her daughter to work. When Pitts got out to investigate the damage, Green pinned her between the two vehicles, crushing her to death. Green has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 40 years. (Douglas County District Attorney's Office via Facebook)
