  1. The Douglas County Fire and EMS Department is celebrating its Firefighter of the Year and EMT of the year. Alfredo Cruz earned the title of Firefighter of the Year, while Madyson Rowell was honored as EMT of the Year. The awards were voted on by their peers.   2. A new fitness class is helping people stay fit this holiday season. The ACQUAPOLE® fitness class is designed for men and women to reduce fat, strengthen your body, and improve flexibility. Poles are used in an aquatic setting for resistance and strength training like you've never experienced before. The next class will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21. (Meetup)
  3. The Douglasville Police Department is teaming up with other law enforcement agencies to make the holiday season safer for drivers and passengers. The 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' enforcement campaign is designed to reduce crashes, injuries, and deaths. With this in mind, Douglasville Police will have a zero tolerance policy for anyone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
