- On Friday, Dec. 16 the Douglas County Firefighters and EMTs honored the best and brightest. Alfredo Cruz and Madyson Rowell were honored with the Douglas County Firefighter and EMT of the Year Awards. The event also featured other awards and accolades handed out to our hardworking firefighters and EMTs. Friends, family, and coworkers all joined together to celebrate and honor their great service to the community. (Press Release Desk )
- The Douglasville Police Department is welcoming a new deputy chief. J.R. Davidson has been promoted to the role after an impressive career with the Douglasville Police Department. - In search of some fun plans for January of 2023? DouglasvilleCalendar has rounded up the latest happenings in and around town. On Jan. 7, there will be a Fashion Designer Club at The Cultural Arts Center. Base2Base Sports will also hold a Baseball Workshop at Hunter Park on Jan. 16. - With the new year right around the corner, government offices will be closed over the holiday. This includes the offices of the Douglasville Police Department. - Douglas County Schools are working with Tomes Society to help children with their reading skills. Tome Society is a student organization that sponsors reading activities and projects to teach them writing skills and how to fall in love with the written word.
