Good Samaritan Center Scavenger Hunt Will Fight Hunger
Douglas County's Good Samaritan Center will be conducting its first-ever Scavenger Hunt to fight against hunger in the community.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA – Douglas County's Good Samaritan Center will be conducting its first-ever Scavenger Hunt to fight against hunger in the community.
"Our board of directors wanted to start an annual fundraising event that is fun and different for this worthy ministry," said Tammy J. Kone, executive director of the Good Samaritan Center. "Almost one in four children in Douglas County live in a food insecure home, which means that they do not know for certain that there will be a meal on the table. The Good Samaritan Center is a significant player in the fight against hunger in our community by serving food to approximately 15,000 families last year."
The Scavenger Hunt will be held Saturday, March 30 in downtown Douglasville starting and ending at the First United Methodist Church. There are three categories of participants: walkers, runners, and drivers. Entry fee is $200 for teams of two - five members. Each member will receive a colorful T-shirt. Check in is at 9 a.m. and each team will need a smart phone and approximately $10 to purchase a few scavenger items.
