  1. Conagra Brands, Inc. is recalling around 2.6 million pounds of canned meat and poultry products due to a packaging defect that could cause contamination. The recall affects various brands, including Armour, Great Value and Kroger, and the products were shipped to retail locations across the US, including stores in Douglas County.   2. In case you missed it: The Douglasville-Douglas County Water-Sewer Authority (DDCWSA) is conducting work along the shoulder of Blairs Bridge Rd. in connection to the ongoing Cobb Sewer Tunnel Connection project. One westbound lane will be closed for about 400 feet west of the Blairs Bridge Rd. / Bob Arnold Blvd intersection during weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday, Mar. 15, and flaggers will be present to direct traffic. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes if possible, and the authority thanks everyone for their patience and understanding as they work on upgrading the community's infrastructure.   3. The playground renovations at Fowler Field Park have been completed, and
    the new playground is now open. Located at 3270 Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville, it is a great new addition to the Douglasville Parks & Recreation system. (City of Douglasville)
  4. Justus “Jay” Terry gained national media attention even before becoming a very talented young player at Manchester High School in Douglasville, due to a viral Instagram post. Despite the hype, Terry remained focused and committed to Georgia, regarded as the nation’s No. 35 overall recruit for the 2025 cycle, and still has two more seasons of Friday nights to go. According to Terry, it would take a lot for another school to get him away from Georgia. (DawgNation)
  5. A nighttime prayer walk was held in Douglas County on Thursday, Mar. 9 to honor two teenagers who were killed over the weekend in a shooting at a sweet 16 birthday party.
