Late Douglasville Councilman Earns Certificate Of Excellence

The Georgia Municipal Association awarded a Certificate of Excellence posthumously to Councilman Michael J. Miller.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – The Georgia Municipal Association, or GMA, awarded a Certificate of Excellence posthumously to Councilman Michael J. Miller to honor his 120 hours of training from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

The award was accepted on Councilman Miller’s behalf by his wife, Nycole Miller, at GMA’s Mayors’ Day Conference held at the Hilton Atlanta over the weekend.

“Today was very bitter sweet as I accepted Michael’s award at this year’s Mayor’s Day Conference,” she wrote on her social media page, “I hope I’m making you proud…and a big thanks to all who have shown us so much love.”

The Georgia Municipal Association’s Mayors’ Day Conference is a four-day long conference that includes training courses for elected officials to better acquaint them with municipal operations, law, finance, ethics, and conditions affecting local governments today.
