Tractor-Trailer Driver Killed In I-20 W Crash In Douglas County
The fatal crash happened Thursday morning on Interstate 20 west near the Thornton Road exit.
LITHIA SPRINGS, GA — The driver of a tractor-trailer died around 4 a.m. Thursday in a crash on Interstate 20 west near Thornton Road, the Georgia State Patrol said.
GSP said the tractor-trailer was traveling on I-20 in the far left lane, when it made contact with a Honda Accord that was traveling in the center lane.
The Accord veered off of the roadway to the left and uncontrollably came to a stop in the median. The tractor-trailer traveled across all lanes and overturned before hitting a guardrail on the north shoulder, the GSP said.

An abandoned Nissan Altima found near the crash is suspected to be involved in it, the GSP said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was pronounced dead at the scene. The person was not identified by name.
