- Global entertainment company Lionsgate has announced plans to become the primary tenant of a new film and TV complex in Douglas County. The facility, known as "Great Point Studios," will be located on a 40-acre site off I-20 at Fairburn Road in Douglasville, with an estimated cost of $160 million. With 11 sound stages, the studio will be a significant addition to the Atlanta film and television industry and is expected to open later this year, having already secured a strong supporter in Lionsgate, which has worked on several productions with Atlanta-based director Tyler Perry. - The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County has opened applications for vendors at the upcoming Taste of Douglasville event in May.
