LITHIA SPRINGS, GA — A local church on Sunday will celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Winifred Page Satchel, who will turn 100 years old on Monday, according to a Douglas County announcement. Family, friends and local residents are expected to gather to celebrate her milestone at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 7167 Sweetwater Road in Lithia Springs.

“She’s the oldest living member of Cornerstone Baptist Church,” said Pastor Ben Lang in a statement released by Douglas County. “We’re going to take some time to honor her and appreciate her for her service.”

Satchel was born in Lithia Springs and attended Clark Atlanta University, back when it was called Clark College, said Romona Jackson Jones, chairman of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, in the statement. Jones is scheduled to speak at Sunday's church service.

“This is a momentous occasion and we are honored to have the community celebrate with us since she moved back from New York in 2014.” said the Rev. Henry Pippins, Satchel's great-nephew, in the statement.
