  1. Two men, including a Douglasville resident, have been arrested in connection with a 23-year-old cold case. On New Year's Day in 2000 at The Doll House in Louisiana, three people were found shot, including LaShonda Harmon, Shonda Woods, and Allen Babineaux, who later died. Marvin Dandre Kyer of Douglasville and Terrance Lee Malvo of Sulphur were arrested and charged with second-degree murder after the police reconstructed the crime scene and reviewed all existing case files, evidence, and witness statements.   2. Loved ones are remembering Dayjon Moore of Douglasville, whose body was discovered at a Duralee Lane hotel on Feb. 5. Moore, the eldest of four, was remembered by his family as an intelligent and loving person who enjoyed playing basketball and making jokes. Moore's mother set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses, as the family had recently buried another nephew and is thus seeking financial assistance. (Douglasville Patch)
  3. Are you coming out to Douglasville's Arbor Day celebration this Friday, Feb. 17? From 2-3 p.m., the city will showcase its newly-planted trees and unveil a shade plan for the ballfields in Hunter Park. Attendees will receive tree seedlings from the Georgia Forestry Commission.
