Man Charged In Connection With Douglasville Restaurant Fight That Left 1 Man Dead

A Douglasville man turned himself into the police last week in connection with the Highlanders Tavern and Grill fight that left a man dead.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Months after a fight at Highlanders Tavern and Grill that left a man dead, a Douglasville man has been charged in connection with the incident.

Eddie Head, 30, faces involuntary manslaughter and battery charges for the death of Rann Vaughn after Douglasville police say the two got into a physical fight at Highlanders in late July. Police said Head punched Vaughn in the face, which rendered him unconscious and caused him to hit his head on the cement when he fell to the ground.

Vaughn died from the injuries several hours later, according to police. The Douglas County Sentinel reported that an autopsy report showed Vaughn died from blunt force head trauma.

Head voluntarily turned himself into Douglasville Police Department custody Oct. 5 and granted a $50,000 bond ($25,000 for each charge), jail records show. He posted bond on Oct. 6.
