  1. A man was found dead at the Royal Inn & Suites on Sunday. A fight allegedly took place at the Durelee Lane hotel and, when Douglasville police officers responded, a man was found dead inside a room. The investigation is ongoing and the identity of the victim had not been released as of Monday night. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. In case you missed it, Narcan is now available throughout the Douglas County School System. The opioid overdose reversal drug is available at each school in case students and staff are ever in a situation where they may need to save someone's life following a suspected overdose. "Having Narcan available is one step we can take to protect our school community. It’s a larger community effort to protect our youth and advocate for their healthy future," said Superintendent Trent North. (Press Release Desk )
  3. Beginning Wednesday, Cool Water Drive will be closed to through traffic. The closure is due to the construction in the area of 4369 Cool Water Drive for stormwater utility repairs. The construction is expected to last a month. Residents in the immediately affected area will be able to access their homes. (Douglas County Happenings via Facebook)
  4. Three awards were presented to members of the Douglas County Fire/EMS Department last month at a ceremony recognized by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. Firefighter and paramedic Lt. John Bennett was recognized as the Employee of the Month In January 2023 for filed operations. Fire Chief Roderick B. Jolivette received the Employee of the Month award for administration. The last award was for the Citizen of the Month award which was presented to Dr. Edwin Ford, pastor of Crossroads For Life Ministries for his support of the department. (Press Release Desk)
