- A Douglasville man broke into his neighbor's home on Aug. 4, stole their dog, and fatally shot it at an unknown location, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Jeffrey Minton, 50, was charged with charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and first degree burglary of the Cantrell Road home. (Douglas County Sentinel)
- Douglasville residents will have a chance to see the World Series Champions Atlanta Braves' trophy up close and personal on Aug. 25. As part of the World Champions Trophy Tour presented by Truist, the trophy will be at Academy Sports + Outdoors on Concourse Parkway from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The stop in Douglasville is one of 151 stops in the Southeast to celebrate the Braves' 151 years as a franchise. - The Hollis Street Jamboree, presented by the Douglasville Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Office, will take place on Aug. 27 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. The event will include music, children's activities, a cookout, and more.
