Man Molests 4 Young Boys, Sentenced To 70 Years
A Douglas County court convicted a 51-year-old man to 70 years in prison for molesting 4 young boys over a two-year period.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — A Douglas County court convicted a man 51-year-old man to 70 years, with the first 40 years to be served in prison, for molesting four young boys over a two-year period.
Joseph Raul Montesdeoca was sentenced by Superior Court Judge William H. “Beau” McClain Monday. The guilty plea and sentence stemmed from several acts of child molestation against four different young boys over a span of roughly two years. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Sam Newman.
During the sentencing hearing, Montesdeoca requested only 10 years in prison, arguing among other things that because he was drunk at the time he was less culpable, while ADA Newman highlighted the numerous victims, the facts that Montesdeoca committed these acts on multiple occasions, and alluded to the fact that in his cell phone he possessed numerous pictures of child pornography. Ultimately, Judge McClain agreed with Newman and imposed a sentence of 40 years in prison, highlighting that Montesdeoca committed these horrific acts for nothing more than his own sexual pleasure. Judge McClain went on to state that Montesdeoca, “Should be punished for each and every victim he robbed of their innocence.”

Douglas County District Attorney Ryan Leonard praised the sentence, calling it “Justice for these juvenile victims who have been robbed of their youth and their innocence by this Defendant who is nothing more than a monster that sought to pray on the most innocent members of our community; our children.” Leonard went on to say that, “Judge McClain’s sentence ensures Defendant Montesdeoca will spend the rest of his natural life in prison where he belongs and where he can’t hurt another child.”

Deputy Chief ADA Newman praised the victims in the case, stating that, “But for their bravery and willingness to come forward and talk about what had been done to them by the defendant, he would still be free and likely abusing other young children.”
The case was investigated by Douglasville Police Department, and the investigation was led by Detective Victoria Bender.
