- A Douglasville man was rescued from a burning home by firefighters on Tuesday morning. The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. at a house on High Point Road, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated. The man was found trapped inside the master bedroom and was taken to a local hospital due to smoke inhalation. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- A Douglas County man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with trafficking a 13-year-old girl. Officials say 46-year-old Dale Drzewucki offered the girl a ride after she ran away from her Cobb County home in November 2020. Drzewucki was sentenced by a judge to life and to serve 25 years in prison. (WBSTV)
- Next Monday, Jun. 26, the Douglasville Police Department will host Rising Men of Douglasville. The program empowers community members to mentor "youthful offenders" by being a positive influence. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has announced the date for the 2023 Festival of Trees. The annual Christmas celebration will be held on Dec. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Douglasville Conference Center. Vendors can still apply to host a booth at the event.
