1. A Douglasville man was rescued from a burning home by firefighters on Tuesday morning. The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. at a house on High Point Road, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated. The man was found trapped inside the master bedroom and was taken to a local hospital due to smoke inhalation. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
2. A Douglas County man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with trafficking a 13-year-old girl. Officials say 46-year-old Dale Drzewucki offered the girl a ride after she ran away from her Cobb County home in November 2020. Drzewucki was sentenced by a judge to life and to serve 25 years in prison. (WBSTV)
3. Next Monday, Jun. 26, the Douglasville Police Department will host Rising Men of Douglasville. The program empowers community members to mentor "youthful offenders" by being a positive influence. 4. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has announced the date for the 2023 Festival of Trees. The annual Christmas celebration will be held on Dec. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Douglasville Conference Center. Vendors can still apply to host a booth at the event.
