  1. Two friends were reunited after being injured at the sweet sixteen party in Douglasville early in March. The two boys, because of their quick thinking, survived the shooting. One of the boys was shot in the chest, where the bullet missed his heart by less than an inch. Click the link to read their full story. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. An eighteen-year-old has been charged in connection with a 2021 shooting in southwest Cherokee County. Douglasville native Elijah Harrison was indicted in relation to a shooting that left a 14-year-old slain and another teen injured. Harrison was not, however, charged with the shooting of either teen.   3. A man died after being involved in a shootout with law enforcement officers in front of a home in Douglas County on Wednesday. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the man was 29-year-old Steven Blunt from Douglasville. The encounter started around 11:18 a.m. when officers were called to New Manchester High School, where the man showed up with a gun at a Special Olympics event. No deputies were injured during the shootout. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
