Man Wanted In Douglas County Arrested After Fleeing State Trooper

A Georgia State Patrol trooper maneuvered to stop the Porsche Cayenne on Tara Boulevard near the Clayton County Jail.

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — A man wanted in Douglas County — as well as California and New York — was arrested Tuesday night after a police chase.

The unidentified man in a 2014 Porsche Cayenne fled a Georgia State Patrol trooper after being stopped on Tara Boulevard for a tag violation and following too closely.

After the driver gave the trooper his driver’s license — believed to be fraudulent — he took off, according to WGCL-TV in Atlanta.

The trooper gave chase, maneuvering to stop the Porsche on Tara Boulevard near the Clayton County Jail. A GSP spokesperson told the Atlanta TV station that the man was then arrested, and a weapon and small amount of marijuana was found in his vehicle.

GSP has not yet released the suspect’s name or charges.
