  1. Megan Danielle, Douglasville star of American Idol, announced that she will be going on tour with Maddie Poppe. The tour will include 15 stops across the U.S. but none in Georgia, for now. The summer tour will be Megan's first. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. A Douglas County man was arrested yesterday after injuring a child in highspeed police chase in Lithia Springs. The driver of the chased vehicle was identified as Jaci Rashad Williams. He has been taken to the Douglas County Jail, while the injured child has been taken to the Children's Scottish Rite Hospital. (WSBTV)
  3. A man from nearby Eastpoint diagnosed with dementia went missing Sunday. He is 75 years old. Ronald Lee Smith is Black, 6'3" tall, and weighs 196 lbs. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a white T-shirt about 8:30 a.m. around the 4000 block of Washington Road. Please call the Eastpoint Police Department at 404-761-2177 or call 911 if you have any information. (Fox5)
  4. The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area has extended part of the closure of the Chattahoochee River. The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper said the closure will be from the Chattahoochee Nature Center to all points downstream. The Hewlett Lodge Visitors Center with the hiking trails and picnic shelters will remain open as usual. No future date was given for the reopening of the river. (Fox5)
  5. Today, Jul 4, the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta will bring a holiday lunch to the nearby Cobb County Jail for all the employees there who have to work. Rev. Joe Evans and Sheriff Craig Owens partnered up bring streaming church services to the inmates, and now in celebration of the success of the endeavor, the church will bring the hot lunch to the jail today.
