- The Never Alone Clubhouse is once again serving the Douglasville community after receiving support from other businesses. The Never Alone Clubhouse is a nonprofit organization led by Jocelyn Wallace that provides services and support to people struggling with substance abuse. However, the organization's office space was damaged last December due to flooding. Thanks to a Facebook post in a craftsmen group, offers to help came in from Georgia and other states. The Clubhouse's space has been refurbished and redecorated and Wallace is now hoping to expand services to include showers and washing machines. (11 Alive)
- This Friday is the last day to sign up for the Career Ready Training Program hosted by Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership. This program is open to graduates from the classes of 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 who are looking for careers in manufacturing, technology, logistics, and warehousing. Click here to learn more. - This Saturday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is hosting an event called, "Let's Talk About Change." This event will take place at 8470 Earl D. Lee Boulevard from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and will include vendors, food, and inflatables for children to play. Sheriff Tim Pounds will be at the event beginning at 12:30 p.m. to speak with community members and answer questions. (Douglas County Sheriff's Office Georgia via Facebook)
- Douglas County Parks and Recreation has announced several upcoming summer camps at Boundary Waters Activity Center! Camp options include Music and Public Speaking, Volleyball, The Art of Storytelling, and Youth Empowerment Experience. To learn more, call 470-308-4430. - Wellstar Douglas Medical Center recently received a "B" grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit healthcare watchdog. The Leapfrog Group assesses hospitals using an academic grading scale with five letter grades to score hospitals on more than 30 measures of patient safety, with a focus on protecting patients from preventable errors.
