  1. Douglas County Senior Services has announced the launch of its Kinship Grand Initiative Program. The initiative is geared toward grandparents and other relatives aged 55 and older who are caring for children. Caregivers will receive valuable resources and information, including legal resources, wellness support, and self-care and stress-reducing activity ideas.   2. The City of Douglasville is celebrating its 148th birthday, and you're invited! The soirée will be held at the Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 6-8 p.m. Guests can enjoy live music, delicious food, and the work of local artists, along with the opportunity to win great door prizes.   3. If you're looking to get in some time at your local library, the Douglas County Library has plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy. On Tuesday, Feb. 21, there will be a Tai Chi for Seniors class at 11 a.m. Later in the week, you can celebrate Musical Theater Thursday (Feb. 23) at 4:30 p.m. with a viewing/singalong of "Camelot" — free popcorn included. The Douglasville Police Department will be holding its next Community Enrichment Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 7-8 p.m. These meetings are designed to help local residents get more involved in programs that better the Douglasville community.   5. A stitch in time saves nine. The Cultural Arts Council is hosting sewing classes this month for crafters of all levels.
