New Information Technology Manager Named By Douglas County
Dunwoody's former manager of information technology will head up Douglas County's IT department, a spokesperson announced Monday.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County has hired Dunwoody’s former IT manager to head its department of information services.
Alex Betancourt most recently worked as a consultant for multiple municipalities in Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina. Betancourt’s LinkedIn profile shows that he managed Dunwoody’s IT services from October 2017 to January 2020.
“It is a privilege and honor to be serving the Douglas County Board of Commissioners as the Information Services Director,” Betancourt said. “The mission of my department will be to innovate, implement and leverage technology to better serve all citizens of Douglas County.”

Raised in Miami, Betancourt received his technical training at Miami-Dade College and enjoys camping and all things outdoors with his family, according to a statement Monday from Douglas County.
