North Douglas ES Evacuated After Bomb Threat

The anonymous threat was made shortly before students were to be dismissed on a scheduled half-day.

North Douglas Elementary School was evacuated following an anonymous bomb threat was made just before students were dismissed after a scheduled half-day. School was set to dismiss students at 11:30 a.m.

The school posted on its website that students were evacuated to the adjacent athletic complex and were dismissed from there.

There’s been no word yet from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on the incident.

“In response to the threat, North Douglas Elementary School staff, Douglas County School System staff, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and the Douglas County Fire Department are working together to take every reasonable precaution to make sure the school is safe,” the school said in the post. “Any threat to a Douglas County school is taken seriously and we will continue to work with local authorities to make all of our schools as safe and secure as possible.”
