Police Seek Witnesses Of Sunday's Walmart Shooting

Douglasville Police continue to investigate a shooting that took place Sunday in the parking lot of the Thornton Road Walmart.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — The Douglasville Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that took place Sunday in the parking lot of the Thornton Road Walmart. The incident was recorded on parking lot surveillance video and investigators are continuing to interview witnesses about what led up to the shooting.

As of this time no charges or arrests have been in this ongoing investigation. The incident is being investigated by the joint Douglasville Police/Douglas County Sheriff Major Case Unit.

At around 12:50 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of Walmart at 1100 Thornton Road. Officers found Johnathan Liddell, 45, of Austell, GA deceased in his vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.

The second person involved in the shooting was O.L. Jones, an off-duty Department of Homeland Security ICE Officer.
